Introducing Your Personal AI Waiter, Taking the Hanguish Out of Deciding Where to Eat

October 1, 2026

We’ve all experienced being hangry, that unpleasant combination of hungry and angry, perhaps because it’s taken far too long to decide where to eat. Now it’s time to end the hanguish: the hunger and anguish that comes with figuring out where to go.

Introducing Group Table, now in its second version, bringing the decisions to you with the help of your own personal AI waiter.

Group Table 2 is more than an update; it’s a fundamental rethink of the experience. Launching Group Table as an MVP revealed a lot about what was needed to solve this problem in a way that felt genuinely useful and rewarding to users. Version 2 introduces a new agentic RAG pipeline designed to deliver a more conversational experience, better recommendations, and more tools that help users decide where to eat faster.

“The expectations for an MVP have changed,” said Group Table founder David Kelly. “As a first-time founder, I read a lot of books describing a startup environment that is very different from the world we live in today. Where it was once acceptable to test rough, simple, imperfect products with users, expectations have increased, and with them, the need to deliver something polished and robust.”

Although the space seems crowded, Group Table differentiates itself by focusing on the most critical part of dining out; the decision-making process. Where other food and map apps focus on the final destination, Group Table focuses on the decision itself. Using your personal preferences, Group Table helps solve a problem we all face at mealtime: deciding where to eat. That decision only gets more complicated as more friends and family join the meal.

Group Table helps put an end to the confusion, endless searching, bickering, and hanguish by surfacing restaurant recommendations personalized for you and your group.

Using a familiar chat interface, Group Table brings together restaurant recommendations and tools to help you decide where to eat, review menus, book a reservation, and even call a ride, all within the app. Best of all, every chat is customized to its participants, whether you’re grabbing dinner close to home or exploring a new city somewhere in the great ol’ U.S. of A.

Every chat also includes a custom collection created by your AI waiter. Users can further customize these collections, save their favorite places, and share them with friends. Group Table works best when everyone joins in, but if you want to take the lead with a larger group, you can publish a collection and share a link so anyone can explore your favorite spots.

As part of the AI-powered small-tech revolution, Group Table is built around people first, with privacy at the center of the experience. We collect a minimal amount of personal data to create an account and personalize recommendations. User messages are encrypted, and we work to keep your personal information private. We want to show that building a great AI-powered experience doesn’t mean people have to sacrifice their privacy just to decide where to eat.

Group Table is available now for iOS and Android. Join Group Table and find your new favorite place.
